The Summer Solstice is when the sun reaches its highest position in the sky — the day with the longest period of light. But that is not all!
It’s also a celebration of the sun and of nature. It’s about reflection and your relationship with yourself, an inner spiritual journey. It represents change and new beginnings; it symbolizes patience and represents fire. This day is about an inner spiritual journey!
Sol to Soul, our day-long Summer Solstice retreat, is about bathing in the light of the sun and celebrating this wonderful day. During the retreat, you will enjoy multiple opportunities to get out on the water to experience paddleboarding and the peace and tranquility that comes with it. From Paddle Yoga to Paddle Fit and everything in between, this day is not to be missed!
But guess what? The day also will include many other amazing activities and healthy food, of course! We are offering Shinrin-yoku, also known as Forest Bathing, a natural well-being therapy that utilizes the healing power of the forest. Just being in the forest can help reduce anxiety and boost the immune system. Alisa Spangler-Miller will guide you through the forest using mindfulness and meditation techniques to allow you to open your senses to the natural world. This will be followed by a traditional tea ceremony to reflect on how bathing in the forest and nature has helped you de-stress, become mindful, and relaxed.
Amanda from The Green Cauldron Apothecary will have a tent set up for a crystal class!!! She will educate you on the different types of crystals and their fascinating powers, as well as teach you how to use crystals to help in all different healing situations. There will also be an opportunity to purchase some of these crystals should any of them speak to you.
Sandy Layman will be offering a Fire Drum Circle with Sound to end our fabulous evening. Sandy will have musical instruments to use, but if you have a musical instrument that you would like to bring along – please do so!!!! The Summer Solstice represents fire and celebrating the full force of the Sun Star, so what a better way to end the evening than chanting, dancing, and making music surrounding a fire with multicolored flames dancing along with us.
The retreat includes a light breakfast, lunch, and dinner with vegan and gluten-free options. We will also provide some free time between paddleboarding classes and the other events to allow you to reflect on the day and journal your thoughts.
